Residential Structure Fire
7/25/10

On Sunday evening, Stations 221, 225, 222, 227 were alerted for a possible residential structure fire in the area of Vine & Lincoln Rd.  EN-221 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing.  EN-225 established a water supply.  222's crew assisted 221 with extinguishment.  TK-227 laddered the building and started ventilation.  The fire was brought under control in about 10mins.  No injuries were reported.  The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

Accident W/Rollover
7/3/10

In the early morning hours on Saturday, Stations 227 was alerted for a single vehicle accident with rollover & entrapment on Newport Dr.  Police arrived on scene and confirmed entrapment.  R-227 arrived and stabilized the vehicle.  The patient was removed from the vehicle without injury.  PH EMS evaluated the driver, and was then taken into custody by PHPD for suspicion of DWI.

Tree Into A Structure
6/6/10

On Saturday morning, Stations 227, 226, 223 were alerted for a tree that hit a house in the 300-blk of Collins Dr.  EN-227 arrived on scene and the homeowner reported no injuries and minor cosmetic damage to the house.  All units returned.

Residential Structure Fire
5/10/10

On Monday Evening, Stations 225, 227, 222, 221 were alerted for a residential structure fire in the 430-blk of Lee Dr.  TK-227 arrived on scene with smoke and fire showing.  TK-227's crew assisted one male patient out of the house to EMS.  TK-227's crew then pulled attack lines and started fire suppressionEN-227 arrived on scene and took a hydrant, and made a water supply to TK-227.EN-221's crew started laddering the building.  Company 222 was assigned RIT and took a position on side "A" of the building.221 & 225 started ventilation.  Fire was under control in about 20mins.PH Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.

Tree Into A Structure
4/25/10

On Sunday afternoon, the Penn Hills area was hit with a mild thunder storm.  Station 227 was alerted for an unknown type wire down in the 180-blk of Glenfield Dr.  EN-227-2 arrived on scene to report a large tree into a structure.  Crews found the service lines to the house had been knocked off and were in the roadway.  Road blocks were deployed and Duq. Light was contacted.  No one was injured.

Vehicle Accident w/Injuries
4/22/10

On Thursday afternoon, Stations 227 & 225 were alerted for a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the 10900-blk of Frankstown Rd.  R-227 arrived on scene with M384 and assisted one female patient to the ambulance.  R-227 contained a minor amount of fluids leaking from both vehicles.

Multi Vehicle Accident W/Entrapment
4/19/10

On Monday, Stations 285, 222, 227, 223 were alerted to the 500-blk of Allegheny River Blvd for a 3 car accident with entrapment.  Verona PD arrived on scene reporting one patient trapped under a vehicle and another patient entrapped inside the other vehicle.  R-222 arrived on scene and stated working on the patient trapped under the vehicle.  The patient was freed and was transported to a local trauma center, R-227 arrived and assisted 222 with extracting the second patient.  After the vehicles dash was rolled the patient was transported to a local trauma center.  Allegheny River Blvd was closed for several hours as Penn Hills Police did the accident reconstruction.

Residential Structure
4/10/10

On Saturday Morning Stations 221, 225, 227, 222 were alerted for a residential structure fire in the 7700-blk of Mt. Carmel Rd.  EN-221 arrived on scene with smoke showing from the rear of the structure.  TK-227 called out moments later.  EN-221's crew started extinguishment while TK-227 & EN-222 crew's check for extension and started ventilation.  No injuries were reported.  PH Fire Marshal is investigating.

Residential Structure
4/2/10

On Friday Station 226 & 227 were alerted for 2 vehicles on fire inside an attached garage. County 911 dispatcher started receiving multiple calls on the fire.  Units requested the next alarm for a RIT team bring Plum TK-233 and Monroeville EN-195 to the call.  EN-227 secured a water supply for the incident.  Units operated on scene for about 2 hours.  No injuries were reported

Brush Fire
4/1/10

On Thursday Station 226, 227, 223 were alerted for a brush fire at the Universal Park.  Units operated on scene for about 2 hours before the fire was extinguished.  No injuries were reported

Residential Structure
3/22/10

On Monday, Station 227 & 223 were alerted for a possible residential structure fire in the 300-blk of Spring Grove Rd.  Station 222 was added for a RIT team.  EN-227 arrived on scene with smoke showing from the front of the 2nd floor.  TK-227 took a position in the front of the structure and set up for aerial operations.  Attack crew advised command that there was a minor fire on top of a dresser.  Truck crew started ventilation, all other units were canceled.  PH EMS transported one patient with smoke inhalation.

Roof Collapse
3/2/10

On Tuesday, Station 225, 227, 222 were alerted for a roof that collapsed and live wires down.  Lt.225 on scene reporting a front awning that collapsed.  R-227 arrived on scene and removed the remain awning and gutter.  Cable lines were cut going to the house.  No injuries were reported.

On Monday Stations 227, 222, 223 were alerted for a 2 car accident with injuries in the 350-blk of Rodi Rd.  R-227 arrived on scene with PH PD and PH EMS.  R-227 handled fluid containment all other units were canceled.

Possible Residential Structure Fire
2/24/10

On Wednesday evening, Truck 227 was requested mutual aid into Plum for a possible electrical fire in the attic in the 1800-blk of Hulton Rd.  Truck 227 arrived on scene and command requested the utilities to the structure be secured.  T-227 crew assisted units on scene with clean up.  All units returned.  No injuries were reported.

2/24/10

On Wednesday morning, Station 227 and 225 were alerted for a 2 vehicle accident with injuries in the area of the Churchill Valley Country Club.  R-227 checked the area with negative results.  Allegheny County 911 gave a possible location update.  R-227 arrived on scene and assisted Woodland Hills EMS with patient care.

Residential Structure Fire
2/20/10

On Saturday evening, Stations 225 and 221 were alerted for a residential structure fire in 10-blk of Country Club Dr.  Units arrived on scene with minor smoke showing from the "D" corner.  Command requested TK-227 and St.222 for RIT.  Fire was extinguished in about 45mins.  No injuries were reported.  PH Fire Marshal is investigating.

Residential Structure Fire
2/6/10

In the early morning hours on Saturday as mother nature was dumping 24"+ of snow.  Stations 225, 221, 227 were alerted for a residential structure fire in the 900-blk of Grandview Ave.  Units were delayed by the road conditions and most of the hydrants being snow covered.  Once a water supply was made fire units made a defensive attack on the fire.  Station 222 and 223 were added to the alarm for man power and RIT.  After about 8hrs on scene, the last fire units cleared the scene.  Two patients were transported to local area hospitals with burns.

Chimney Fire
2/2/10

On Tuesday evening, Station 227 and 225 were alerted for a chimney fire in the 11000-blk of Joan Dr.  Units arrived on scene with light smoke showing from the chimney.  EN-227 laddered the front of the house and crews from 227 & 225 checked the interior for any extension.  The fire was extinguished and the homeowner was advised to call a chimney sweep.

Accident W/Rollover & Entrapment
2/2/10

On Tuesday, Station 227 was alerted for a vehicle accident with injuries in the area of Rodi & Maple Ln.  County dispatchers started getting reports that the driver of one vehicle was entrapped, so the assignment was upgraded and St.222 & St.223 were added to the call.  R-227 arrived on scene and confirmed entrapment.  Crews popped one door and started BLS patient care till PH EMS arrived on scene.  All other unit were canceled.  The patient was transported to a local hospital with a few minor, non life threatening injuries.

Accident W/Rollover & Entrapment
1/26/10

On Tuesday, Units were alerted for a vehicle into a utility pole with rollover and entrapment in the area of Allegheny River Blvd & Nadine Rd.  Rescues 222 & 227 arrived on scene and crews found that the patient had made it out of the vehicle under their own power.  Duquesne Light was notified for the pole and wires down.  All units returned in service, 222 handled spill pick up.

Vehicle Into A Building
1/26/10

On Tuesday, Stations 223, 227, 222 were alerted for a vehicle into a structure in the 6100-blk of Saltsburg.  227 Chief was in the area and reported on scene with a minor accident and no entrapment.  All units except EN-223 were canceled.  EN-223 handled spill pick up.

On Friday, Rescue 227 was alerted for a 3 vehicle accident in the 11000-blk of Frankstown Rd.  R-227 arrived on scene and assisted PH EMS with patient care.  R-227 returned to service after a small amount of fluids were contained.

On Monday afternoon, Station 227, 222, 223, 225 were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of the Ritzland Shopping Center.  As R-227 was pulling on scene, PD reported no entrapment, two patients with minor injuries.  R-227 provided BLS care till PH EMS arrived on scene and contained vehicle fluids.

In the early morning hours, Rescue 227 was alerted to respond to the Parkway East I-376, westbound for a vehicle accident with rollover and possible entrapment.  R-227 arrived on scene with PSP and MVFD to find no entrapment.  All units returned.

1/16/10

On Saturday Rescue 227 was alerted for a one car accident in the 500-blk of Rodi Rd.  While in route, County 911 dispatchers reported police on scene and no entrapment.  R-227 helped contain fluids from the vehicle.  PH PD detained the driver of the vehicle on suspicion of DWI.  PH PD is investigating the accident.

Vehicle Into A Structure
1/11/10

On Monday, Station 227 & 225 were alerted for a vehicle into a structure in the 900-blk of McFarland Dr.  R-227 arrived on scene and reported one vehicle into a porch.  All occupants were out of the vehicle and the house, uninjured.  Rescue techs from 227 stabilized the leaning porch.  The scene was turned over to PHPD.

Residential Structure Fire
1/10/10

On Sunday, as EN-227-1 was leaving Monroeville.  Station 225, 227, 222, 221 were alerted for a residential structure fire in the 400-blk of Penn Dr.  EN-227-2 called out on scene with smoke showing from the front door.  EN-227-1 arrived on scene seconds after and crew were able to extinguish the fire with two water cans.  Crews from 221 checked for any extension, none was found.  No injuries were reported.

Assist Monroeville W/Structure Fire
1/10/10

On Sunday morning, Station 227 was requested to stand by in Monroeville #6 station for a residential structure in their first due district.  While on stand by, EN-227-1 was requested to the scene.  Crews assisted MVFD companies with clean up.

Vehicle Fire
1/5/10

On Tuesday evening, St.225 & 227 were alerted for a vehicle on fire in the area on Ritzland Dr & Penn Oak Dr.  While units were responding, County 911 dispatchers reported the vehicle was on fire and endangering a building.  The call was upgraded and St.222 was added to the call.  EN-227's crew pulled attack lines and quickly brought the fire under control.  St.222 was put back in service.  No injuries were reported.

Rollover W/Entrapment
1/5/10

On Tuesday, while some members were helping to clean up from the fire from the night before, St.227 was alerted for an accident with rollover and entrapment in the area of the Fry Rd Industrial Park.  R-227 arrived on scene and found on patient entrapped.  The vehicle was stabilized and crews opened the door with the Hurst tool.  The patient was transported to a local hospital.  PH PD will investigate the accident.

Residential Structure Fire
1/4/10

On Monday Station 227, 225, 223 were alerted for a basement on fire.  While units were en route, County 911 dispatchers received multiple calls for the fire.  TK-227 called out on scene with heavy smoke showing from the front of the house and fire showing from side "B".  Command requested St.222 be added to the alarm for RIT.  Crews from all companies fought a deep seated fire.  One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for a non-life threatening injury, another firefighter was treated at the scene.  PH Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
