Q: How do I get started in becoming a Penn Hills No.7
Fire fighter?
A: Just stop by the station and ask for an application.

All applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Anyone under
age 18 must have the approval of their parent (s) or guardian
before requesting an application for membership. No.7 bases it's
"Jr. Program" from the
PA Junior Fire Fighter's Handbook. < Click link to download

Q: What's next?
A: After we receive your application, it will
be presented to our general membership for review. After review,
you may be contacted for an interview. After the interview, your
application is then sent back to the general membership for approval.
If approved, you will be contacted by the department Secretary
and your dream of becoming a firefighter will begin to take shape
with the Penn Hills No.7 Fire Department.
Q: Do I need any prior experience?
A: No previous experience or training is required
to become a fire fighter with Penn Hills No.7 Fire Department.
We will provide the essential training that you will need to start
your firefighting career, at NO COST TO YOU.
Q: What about protective clothing?
A: Penn Hills No.7 Fire Department provides all
essential protective clothing to all of its members.
Q: What can I do once I join?
A: This will depend on the amount of training
and experience that you possess. As it was indicated earlier,
no experience or training is necessary. No matter what amount
of training that you have, everyone is needed to help.

Becoming
a volunteer fire fighter is a great learning experience. Not only
are you learning a trade that will help people, but you will also
be providing a valuable service to the community... and that's
what we are all here to do!!
